What is the difference between CFexpress and CFast 2.0?

CFast 2.0 was released in 2012 and supports SATA-III interface with speeds up to 600MB/s. CFexpress was released in 2017 and leverages NVMe PCIe interface. Each CFexpress card has 1 to 4 lanes, which means they can transfer data at 1,000 MB/s to 4,000 MB/s.

What is the difference between CFast and CF cards?

Though they have similar names and dimensions, CFast cards are not to be confused with CF cards – which are theoretically speed-limited to 167MB/s. CFast cards offer faster read and write speeds of up to 600 MB/s and are better suited for data storage.

What is CFast 2.0?

Released in 2012, the CFast 2.0 format is a faster version of CompactFlash cards intended for professional video cameras. It supports SATA-III at speeds up to 600MB/s.

According to CompactFlash Association, CFast cards based on the CFast 2.0 specification are intended for both industrial and professional imaging and video markets.

Do you also offer a CFast card reader?

Yes, Exascend offers a high-speed USB 3.2 CFast 2.0 card reader that supports transfers up to 10 Gbps.

What is VPG130?

The Video Performance Guarantee (VPG) specification ensures stable high-resolution video recording in professional DSLRs and video cameras. Memory cards with VPG130 certification have a minimum sustained write speed of 130 MB/s, which ensures videos are saved without interruptions or frame drops.
